I think now that Palin has been coached on how to debate. she will do well and come off as a PitBull. Biden has a tough job because if he comes off too hard they will say the old guy picking on a women.

At the end of the day I don't think society is truly ready for a women in the oval office

I don't think anybody can really coach this lady at this point she has made it very clear that she doesn't have a DAMN !!! clue as to what the hell is going on, I think its a big mistake to let her really open her mouth again, I think she was a bad choice...

Without knowing the format of the debate, its hard for me to form a solid opinion. I like to believe that Palin will have a good showing. However, if this debate goes the same path as the presidential debate she could be in for a very long night. In the end, I don't society is really worried about a woman being president, they/we are more concerned with a(nother) knave being president.

Like dakim said she has Palin had to be coached....to me that says it all

Some ppl I've spoken with think she is like a bulldog and is going to tear Biden apart. But from what I've seen she cant really hold up on things that she hasn't been trained how to answer. Of course some argue that they don't like Biden's record. But who in politics has a so called good record.

I just want to see how it all goes down. Really curious about this Palin chick

i think the debate was exellent. i don't really agree with what CNN is reporting about biden winning it but thats really just a matter of opinion.

i think palin demonstrated a good knowledge of the topics and made several excellent points about both biden and barack's voting records.

biden also did well, but some of his points we just incorrect. he took several of mccain's statements on financial deregulation completely out of context.

overall, both candidates had about equal time it seemed. the moderator was worthless, shes completely in the tank for obama and the fact that she has a book about him coming out on 1/20/2009 doesn't lend a lot of confidence to her prejudices.

Well, from your previous post Josh, I would have been extremely shocked if you did agree with CNN. Palin did a lot better than expected, but when you have been sequestured (sp) for the past 3 days practicing you are supposed to do well. She did make several good points, but her points seemed to issues she was prepared to hear about. You could hear the confidence in her voice when she spoke on certain issues (probably ones she had been coached) and you could hear the unease in her voice when she had to stray from her prepared text.

In politics, you are supposed to use your opponents words against him, I would have been bothered if Biden didn't take Johnny Mc's words and use them to his advantage.

Josh-

The Republicans are a bunch of whiners. I can't believe they are complaining about the moderator who has hosted several other VP debates and is one of the most professional pundits in the DC beltway. The McCain camp shows its incompetence again, anyone with access to google would have known about her book.(which is not about Obama, I think there is like 1 chapter in the book about him)

The McCain signed off on the debate and agreed to the moderator with the information out there. them making a big deal out of it was just pre- debate spin.

Obama did a debate moderated by George Stephanopoulos for Clinton Aid and press secondary and did not whine a bit. By your logic Obama has been disadvantage in all debates because the moderator is not his skin color. Some people have integrity and can do their jobs regardless of skin color.

Republicans use distractions and stunts like this when their candidates have absolutely nothing to talk about.

By the way I voted today...judging by the early voting line Georgia will be in play ; )

I would really like to see these 2 debate again, but with a different format. I would prefer see these 2 also have a 'Town hall' style debate. Take away the podium/lecturns. Stick a microphone in their hand give them 5 minutes a piece to answer a possed question and then 2 minute rebutals. Or even better, have a 'Best Ball' debate, where you have both members of the ticket present answering questions, where they alternate giving the primary answer to a question and the other give supporting commentary.
