His white grandparents raised him from 6-18yrs old in Hawaii. So from 2-6yrs, he was raised in Indonesia with his white mother and her Indonesian husband.

Is it really about him being black or not???
Are we asking this question?
As we all know if you some type of black in your blood your black.
Its as close to black as were going to get.
Who did it...who did it. Who wanted it posted, lol
I don't care if he is black or not, I care about his ideas.
Obama will not be able to wave a magic wond and fix all of the problems in the black community.
As many of you probably realize succesful black people are harder on black people than white people are.
Obama is just as much black as we are African. Most black people in American are mixed with other races be it white, indian, or whatever. But according to what America considers black the 1/10th blood rule yes he is.
Why is black america just seeing color in this man. He is not here for only our benefit. He is not here to come in and target just black america problems. Then to sit up here and want to judge whether he is truly black or not just shows what some of black america is really concerned about.
Main stream media has done their best to make this a race game. I appauld him for staying clear of that. However in America is you have a smidget of black your black. Also, I think so many people are going crazy because of color, but i think most older black people are happy that someone that looks like them is close to potentially being the president. The race card is being used again by the media, but I wonder how many kids understand the struggle for the world to get to this point.
dakim-
That is party of the beauty of it. Some kids wont have to see all of the ugliness they can just look at a canidate that happens to be black could potentialy be POTUS.
MSM
Will drive the race thing for ratings purposes only. If you look at the states Barack has won in during the primaries and leading in the polling, race is entirely overblown.
The talk of the "Bradley Effect" is so much blown out of control. Anytime Obama has had time in front of the state are the Amrican people has poll numbers have gone up.
I don't care what nationality he is .. I like what he represents and I like what he is bringing to the table including Joe Biden. What exactly is black blood?? I work in the medical field and I am looking in the PDR for black blood .. I can't find it .. Point is, race is so far from what makes this election and the next 4 years important. We are so beyond the issue of race. I am here, I belong here, and no one black, white, yellow, or green tell me otherwise.
Obama has made a effort to steer clear of the race thing. But we all know that it is still a huge issue. Unfortunately a lot of the blacks are with him because of what he looks like and simple enough some of the whites are running because of that same fact. I was reading CNN and one lady plainly stated just that...She cannot see herself voting for a man of color..period.
Its sad that we allow such a minute thing to be a major factor in something that is so critical to us all, our living. This just goes to show that USA is still struggling in areas of race.
Dakim, I agree that older blacks are just now throwing up there fist and deciding to vote and actually care about how the government is ran...I saw a lady on WSBTV 89 yr old black female just now voting for the first time. I mean these were the same people that were around when our rights were being fought for. Thats ashame all cuz he looks like us! But do you think that young america have or dont have a connection to what was done for us because we failed to inform them or they failed to listen
Conronda-
Anyone that would say that would probably never vote Democratic anyway.
If we are talking blood Barack may not even be the first "black" president anyway. Do some research on Alexander Hamilton.

What makes you think I wont vote democratic?
-Conronda
Was referencing what the woman said on CNN. There are some white people that won't vote for Barack because he is black, but there are also some black people that won't vote for McCain not only because he is white but because he is a Republican. It cuts both ways.
But no not talking about you. But if you remember the first primary Barack won was Iowa. Not many black people there and at the same time Hillary Clinton was polling higher among blacks than Barack.
Because people were asking him the same silly question is he "black" enough instead of learning about the man and his policies.
Yeah you are right! Its crazy.
AD your correct we are worried about is he black enough instead of what he can do for us. But it shows that now matter how much we have progressed we are still stuck in the slave mentallity and some of still confuse being black enough aka keeping it real. With true acomplishments
People who see color first will always see him as black.
Unfortunately no matter how we try the world looks at color first. So is there a solution ?
There really is no solution. People are going to always be like this.
Personally I think if Obama wins, it will be similar to OJ beating his case, people are going to go smack clean crazy !!!!
dakim-
If he wins it would be good for the country. I was very proud of Iowa during the primaries. It will speak volumes about the majority of Americans WHEN he is sworn into office.
People that follow the issues understand this election is bigger than race.
