I met a black 27yr old woman that is a lawyer, She says she is trying to climb the corporate ladder as a result she has to lie about her background because he colleagues and boss wouldn't understand. In addition she feels the only thing a man can do for her is take from her not add. So, she stated she plans on interracial dating because they are the only ones that would understand her plight, financially and business wise.
What are your thoughts? Do you feel in today's economy you have to lie about who you are just to get ahead? Would you date interracial to get ahead in life?

I don't feel that she is saying that only reason she is going to date interracial is to get ahead.
But I do feel like she is saying in the black community not many black men are on her level at her age. I can understand where she is coming from the average black 27 year old man isn't on my level career wise.
I also feel that I may have to start dating out side of my race to find someone that is a lil more cultured and just really thinks outside the box.
Most black men are still into Rap music and getting quick money.....
Working to hard way isn't anywhere in there plan... and this doesn't men all of them but I would say majority.
You know what I dont think you need to date interracially to get ahead. Further more, I don't think you need to lie about ppl in your life. Being true to yourself is so important. If you can't be true to you then you will never be happy! You can have everything else going for you but you will still be uneasy.
It's amazing especially living in ATL, how many ppl I find that aren't true to themselves and live a false/fantasy life to get ahead. But I think once you start compromising who you are, you live a life of confusion and loneliness.
This brings to mind the old saying that if you tell 1 lie, you have to tell 3 more to keep up with that one. I wish her the best of luck .. but she is building a life on shaky ground and when the foundation crumbles, what is she gonna be left with.
