My 19 year old daughter told me she is pregnant. She is unmarried and hasn't finished college. I am disappointed because they have become another statistic. Some people say it's the parents forth. Others says I should be happy.
What are your thoughts ?
What are your thoughts on teen pregnacy?
How do we stop and educate our teens put an end to the cycle in our communities?

I think that you should educate your children on what happens once pregnancy occurs. After you have done that it is up to them to make the right choices. At this point it's done. Of course I'm sure you are dissappointed but you will get over it. I'm sure your daughter is afraid and will need support. So put the big boy drawers on and try to be there.
You can't stop what they are going to do.
My thought they have made one of the biggest mistakes in their life. People tend to blame parents for things kids do, but all you can do is teach your kids the power of CHOICE and after that they are going to make their own decisions.
I think the way to stop the cycle in our communities are parents talking to and educating kids, abortions if your too young, and monitoring who your children are around while you have that control. Friends encourage things that may not be good for them. And I think all kids are followers in some situations and leaders in others.
Your saying that the communities should push abortions if the kids are too young, but then on the other blog you stated that the only reason a person should have an abortion is because of rap and blah blah.... I dont understand....
Fornication is the devil

stop it
Well to educate them is to teach them prevention. Our youth is so much more advance these days and I think that sex should be talked at a younger age. Putting your child on birth control isn't condoning the act, its just not being dumb. Its a done deal sweetheart, no sense crying over spilled milk. She needs her education, but I am sure you guys will work all of that out :)
