VOTING

I was listening to the radio this morning and all I heard were people talking about how if they vote early they feel as if there vote will not count.

Please express your thoughts.

Really, are we really talking about people not thinking their vote will count if they vote early? So people are seriously thinking that the govt would 1) waste time purging votes from voting machines 2)rigging an election 3)risk the melt down of the entire govt system. The voting machines are audited by an independent 3rd party company that would have to be paid off so well to purge votes, there is no way you can pay off enough people to effect an election. If you feel that you early vote isn't going to count, then dammit, wait until 11/4/08 to vote...problem solved...DUH!!!

I heard it on Ryan Cameron yesterday. Everyone is urging voters to VOTE EARLY!! There's no telling how long lines will be on 11/4 and that might discourage people to cast a vote...even the one's that sit outside and wait for the new Playstations and Jordan's...GO FIGURE!

Up in NJ my dad wishes he could vote early, he was surprised I had already voted. I think it's only about 30 states that allow it.

it really isn't as hard as you'd think to hack a voting machine. i've seen demonstrations where its done in less than a few minutes. heres an old article from the last election but from what i've seen things haven't changed all that much.

i think the bigger risk with early voting is that someone just might "lose" the machines. its not likely but if i was going to rig and election like this one that sure would be an easy way to dispose of a lot of votes.

Those are the people that hardly ever vote anyway.

well shoot if someone was going to delete votes, wouldn't they delete votes from 11/4/08 as well? not just the early votes.

Honestly .. I want to vote early but I really enjoy the atmosphere of voting day and watching the results come in. I think maybe those that feel it doesn't count might feel a little like they are missing out on with what the rest of the country is doing on that day and maybe that is why the feel like their vote doesn't count.

I dont think you should leave anything to chance. If you can vote early do it, you are not promised tomorrow
