I believe every child should have a safe and loving home. Celebrities adopting 3 world country children appears to be the new FAD.
Should parents be able to adopt children outside of their race ?

I don't think the race of the child matters but I feel if you are in the states you should only adopt children from the states!
i kind of agree with conronda, there are tons of kids in the US that need a home. i don't think that race matters all that much. as long as the parents are able to provide a good home for the kids nothing else really matters. i'm sure that it could be hard on the kids if the parents are of a different race but if the parents are willing to take on those challenges then thats their decision.
Take care of US babies first. I think a lot of the adoption laws are so ridiculous and costly it makes it difficult.
Race should not matter in terms of adoption.
I agree conronda, You should only be able to adopt within the US. There are so many deprived children here that it is crazy.
I don't think race matters, however I do believe if the child is of a different race, then it should be a requirement that you teach them outside of school about there heritage. So they always have that connection. I think it will also help develop character within that child.
With so many foster kids being abused, I agree with the stringent adoption laws, the idea is if your willing to go through all of this then you will provide that child with what he needs
Laws should be stringent but not to outrageous. That is the biggest driver of people adopting outside of the US because it is easier.
I think that people should be able to adopt out of their race because physiological needs do not see color, creed, or nationality. I think Hollywood has gone crazy with adoption .. the more exotic the child, the better like they are some kind of garment. On the other hand, I had the opportunity to live in a third world country for a year .. I saw first hand how some of these children live and fend for self so without the Madonna's, Angelina Jollie's, or missionaries that come thru those areas .. those babies wouldn't have a chance.
Yeah I know they have a rough life over in other countries but you have to take care of home. What about our poor little babies. Are they not as bad off because they live in USA?
I personal agree with conronda, what about OUR children here in the US. I think we should start at home, first. Celebrities adopting children from other countries is good also, but I guess they figure adopting a child from US is not news worthy.
indianagirl - welcome to the blog. I have to agree with you. Adopt little marybeth or little Ray Ray in the US isn't news worthy and for some odd reason they feel like kids in the US do really need it. I haven't been to a 3rd world country but I know whats needed to keeping our kids at home safe and in loving homes. I would how would the nation field is people from other countries started adopting american children
