Barack vs Joe

Barack Obama tells running mate Joe Biden to keep quiet

Did Barack make a bad choice in picking Joe ?

Will it cost him the election ?

Will the election come down to race?

He made the right choice in someone he is comfortable with. Biden is a solid choice and it re-assures people in the middle. I think people have Clinto

It will not cost him the election because of demographic shifts in the electorate in battle ground states that will help Obama along with an energized electorate.

Most of the people that wont vote for him because of race are more than likely Republicans anyway. Obama is polling higher than Kerry and Gore at this stage in the game. Race will play an issue but not to the extent the media is hyping it up. Obama currently leads in polls in battelgrounds Iowa,Minnesota,Wisconsin (not many black folks there) He is also polling ahead of McCain in new polls in Florida, Virginia, Colorado.

I think the race issue has been played up by the media because it gets people riled up. I think the media has done white americans a disservice by playing up this race issue.

If you look at Obama's rallies you can tell that America is changing. Obama's canidacy was initially fueled by white people. If you look at when he announced his canidacy it was majority white.

One of the best moments this year is after the Iowa caucus. Race will play a factor but dont believe the hype. He will have people voting for him because he is black and people voting against him because he is black. So that part I believe will be a wash. The media is just trying to sell advertisements.

Only way he loses is if there are some voter shenanigans in Florida and Ohio again. Even if they rig the election the turnout will probably be strong enough to overcome that as well.

I mean at the end of the day does your vote really count that much. If Barack makes it into office it will be for the gain of the white America... I cant trust anything in politics

He is not going to be able to wave a magic wand and erase all of the problems that are in the black community.

Black community is our own worse enemy. People died for our right to vote. So I believe it is our obligation to vote.
But a lot of his core economic and social policies will benefit all of America not just black american. He is running for the president of the US not just black america.

i don't think biden was the best choice he could have made but i see why he did. according to national journal Obama was the most liberal member of the senate while biden was number 3, so he is solidly in the pocket of the radical left. and he does help BO out in the experience department since he has none and biden has been there for 35 years and 8 months. but that does take a little away from his message of "change" since biden is just about as "washington establishment" as McCain (21 years) seeing as how hes the 17th longest serving senator in history.

He could have picked the Pope and people would have had fault with it. His pick was a million times better than the airhead rodeo princess from Wasilla. The Palin bubble has officialy burst. Everytime she opens her mouth her negatives go up.

Maybe people relize that all of her handlers are ex bush operatives. "Can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig"

actually the pope would have obviously been a terrible choice given that whole seperation of church and state thing.

a better choice for him would probably have been someone like Wesley Clark or Kathleen Sebelius. Someone who hasn't been around the washington establishment for so long. someone who maybe more identified with new and different ideas, something biden is completely not.
