McCain's move: Bold - or bonkers?
McCain camp to propose postponing VP debate
Obama says YES! McCain says NO ! What does this say about their potential leadership abilities? Is this a good political move for either candidate ?

The debate should go on ! This is another unless ploy by the republicans to try and steal this election. McCain doesn't want to debate because he has contradicted himself too many times in the past few weeks. I think him as well as most of the world are trying figure out what does he really stand for.
On another note I am dishearten that Biden is publicly disagreeing with Obama, makes the democratic party look unorganized and separate again. We have barely moved forward from the war between Hilary and Obama. I hope he doesn't allow the republicans to steal the election
What is the purpose of postponing either debate. I beleive McCain wanted to postpone the debates so they could go back to Washington and work on the state of the economy. As CIC he would have to handle multiple issues at one time, what better way to display your ability to multitask then perform your job while campaining for President. Participate in the debates (Pres/VP) and allow your qualifications to be seen through your actions.
The McCain/Palin camp has no reason (that I see) to want to postpone the VP debate, she is not a member of Congress and Biden is, so it would seem by the McCain logic he be the one to beg off the debate. I have not heard about Biden wanting to delay the debates. What next, suggest we postpone the election so that Congress can focus on the economy?!
I don't think it would be such a bad thing to put politics aside for a couple of days for the good of the country. let them do what they were sent there to do and make some policy instead of using our tax dollars to run their campaigns. if they would actually go to the senate and work on some of these issues perhaps we could get something done but it appears that barak would rather stay out campaigning like hes done for more than half of his senate career then actually get up there and do his job but its interesting to note that obama has missed 23.7 percent of his votes, according to the senate vote-tracking databases. thats more than any other democratic senator that ran for president. thats 82 of his chamber's 346 votes during the current two-year session.
what would it hurt moving the debate to next week sometime. dems are so damn paranoid, if someone is going to "steal" the election, plans were made long ago and moving one debate isn't going to change anything.
Intresting comment, I think Obama made a statement that said the president needs to be able to multi task. McCain needs to learn that. Put campaining aside for the good of the country ? I don't understand this, so just drop to make sure the Bush's republican buddies who destroyed the economy are ok and are bailed out before the end of the year
McCain even change his own diaper by himself. What makes anyone think he can walk and chew gum at the same time?
This is another in the log line of political stunts by McCain. Just the other day he said "the fundamentals of our economy are strong" and "Washington should not be bailing out anyone"
All McCain is trying to do is change the headlines of the day from his campaign chair Rick Davis still being in the pocket of Fannie Mae up until last month receiving $18,000 a month payments.
His campaign has been the biggest smoke and mirrors campaign in modern history.
Why do they need to postpone the debate to perform the primary task? If they want to return to Washington to work on some economy issues great, they have this great new technology called TELECONFERENCE, they could do the debate LIVE VIA SATELLITE, or they could move the venue to one located in Washington. I am sure there are some empty venues there that could stand to be used for a public forum. There is no need to postpose something of this nature.
McCain says he does not even understand the economy so the notion that he can come to Capitol Hill and become Alan Grenspan and put a plan together is a stretch.
McCain is just trying to duck the debates.
duck the debates, interesting. since he proposed a series of 10 town hall meetings in various states during the summer to which the obama camp flat out refused.
maybe he just thought that doing his job was more important. he is a senator first and foremost, atleast until january.
Josh what would be the purpose of Town Hall Meetings.
I will say Obama should have done the town hall meetings because it would be more impromptu ! Not time to prepare etc. But I think Obama is a better debater anyway !
hes a better speaker i'll give you that, but take away his teleprompter and he studders as bad as GW.
the townhalls would have been more impromptu and would have allowed real people to ask questions that are important to them instead of debates where questions will be asked by liberal media mouthpieces which are obviously biased.
heres a good video to prove my point about teleprompters.
