Why is the ultra conservative right wing GOP acting as though the world is coming to an end because they lost the election?
Are the flipping out because they have lost their strangle hold on governmental power or are they flipping out because they lost their power to a non-caucasian?
The Clinton/Gore ticket defeated 16 yrs of GOP presidency and the uproar was no where near the level it is now. Obama/Biden defeated 8 yrs of GOP lunacy and right wing GOP are claiming everything from he is not a natural born US Citizen to he is setting the US for invasion and is taking away the 2nd Amendment.

C'mon AD & Josh...post up!
They are tasting the blood of defeat and trying to save face. I was watching Palin the other day and she made every excuse "they had WAY more money than us, the media pushed Obama more than our camp." Sore losers
His name escapes me but a prominant Republican said it best, there was no way a GOP candidate could win, with the current state of affairs and incompetence the party displayed the last 8 yrs. It would have taken a complete idiot to loose the election for the Dems. In past years, the GOP has run, at least in part, a campaign based on fear. They are laying the ground work (within their base) for the 2012 fear campaign. It appears that are secretly hoping for the worst case senario for the country so they can run around with their chest out saying 'We told you so'. Seems to me if they were smart they would be looking within to find the flaws in their campaign and saying 'Hey, did see how close it was at the end, if we can get voter turn out on par with the Dems, we can take this thing.' Instead they are out there pointing fingers crying foul, and saying 'If the candidates were never seen, they would have won, because black folks just voted for the black guy'.
On another topic, how in the blue hell did the people of Alaska re-elect Sen. Ted Stevens after being found guilty of 7 counts ethics violations? You talk about voting for what you know, the dude was found guilty of and they still voted for him. Hide his name and let them vote on his record and do you think he wins that seat?
I think they are freaking out because the demographics in this country have changed so rapidly their Republican "brand" is not selling with the public anymore.
They attempt to rile up their base with cultural issues like "Obama will take away your guns". But luckily for all of us their are not enough people dumb enough to fall for the fear tactics any longer.
We are in serious times and we need smart leadership to guide us out of this funk. Obama is just one elected official and can not change all the corrupt shit and injustice that goes on in multiple levels of government.
The world will go on my fellow republican breathens. But the demographics in this country has shifted immmensely with the influx of Latinos in the electorate. The republican party managed to piss off the Latinos with all the illegal immigration saber rattling.
If the republican party does not re-brand themselves they run the risk of being obsolete. Obama was elected in large part because when people are drowning they don't care what color the person is that's throwing them the life perserver.
The only thing the republicans were banking on was the "Bradley Effect" which clearly was not a factor. In fact I believe even Josh secretly casted his vote for OBAMA! = )
As best said by Easyrider in the past...And boom, there goes the dynomite!
Easy & AD brought up some good points.
About 61% of Obama's votes came from Whites. He couldn't win on the Black vote alone, of course. They're only hope, in this state of the economy, was for the Bradley effect to take place. In 2045, it won't matter cuz minorities will be the majority and the U.S. gonna look like we been in an eclipse.
Gun sales rose 100%+, especially in Texas, they showed on the news, of people fearing Obama would clamp down on gun laws.
Lastly, I wish I had been home...in my BLUE STATE when Obama got elected. True colors have come out I see, in the RED STATE I'm in now.
easy rider, your right i think. Mccain was just put up there so the GOP wouldn't burn any real candidate. they knew he couldn't win. i think in four years we'll see a real conservative step up and run and by that time it will be so clear that obama is an inexperienced socialist that it will be an easy campaign.
the right it nervous. it has nothing to do with race but everything to do with ideas. obama has come out against the second ammendment on several occasions and thats a big deal to a lot of americans.
it also appears that hes on track to bring back the "fairness doctrine" which was overturned in 1987. all that basically does is make it impracticle to have political opinions in the media, but is specifically harsh on talk radio. many on the right feel like he's going to use his fcc appointments to stifle any opinions he doesn't agree with.
oh and when clinton won, it had been 12 years of GOP domination. and i can assure you that i did not vote for obama.
Yeah, it was 12 years of GOP reign, but only 8 yrs of dominance. Dukakis didn't stand a snowballs chance in hell at defeated George H.W. Bush on the heals of the Reagan administration. I still think the conservative right will have to do the Cha Cha Slide (Slide to the left)quite a bit to win in 2012. I do see that Palin is sounded a little more intelligent, albeit 3-4 months too late. That duo did make for great late night foder though.
