Sports and Athletes
What's really going on in Sports. Why are these athletes letting there hood friends keep them in the hood when they have received millions to play a sport? Example: Mike Vick (dog fighting) and Plaxico Burress (shot himself in club). Thought the goal was to get out of your old neighborhood to better yourself and your family.

Their way of thinking has to change. This is why we have to expose our youth to different things. If all they see is hood and all they think is hood .. Why wouldn't they still have that mind set even if they get money?? Some people's eyes are opened and other's stay shut.
Agree and its sad I thought the league provided some type of transition assistance for these kids.
I don't you can really tie Plaxico and Vick together, two completely different situations. Plaxico is just a dumb ass that shot himself in the leg, or proverbial foot, Vick...let his friends influence is thinking. Plaxico was out with other multi-millionares at a club. Plax's biggest mistake in his case was carrying a weapon into a public area, had he shot himself in the leg at home, at the gun range, out hunting the only crime he would have commited would have been being a dumb ass. One of the ESPN anchors said it best on an ESPN Blog, he said 'Have security provisions inserted into your contract, or set aside money and pay for security, you don't need to carry a gun to a club.' As dumb as Pac Man Jones is, he never had a gun charge levied against him directly, and had his employer provide him security, as inept as they were.
Dakim .. I didn't life training when I was hired to my job, why are they any different?? Dog fighting is illegal, carrying an unregistered weapon in a public place is illegal. They know what is required of them as public figures .. act accordingly or find another profession. Its the job of their parents to prepare them for life.
Exactly, we are talking about GROWN ASS MEN, you know right from wrong, I don't give a a rat's ass if you grew up in the projects or a house the size of the projects.

FYI: It's illegal to carry a gun in N.Y. period
It sure is Miss T .. How dumb is he gonna look going to jail for shooting himself??? These ppl make the dumbest decisions .. I wouldn't put all my life and finances in jeopardy for some foolishness .. you know we forgot to mention yesterday fools that try to have their baby mama's bumped off .. Ray Carruth
