I think sometimes you have to see the qualities that made you love her in the first place. The problem is after so many years you tend to forget them. Getting involved with someone else helps that unless the person on the side is better than your wife. Its sticky though
So why keep the girlfriend why not just stick it out with the wife....

sounds like 'Eating your cake and having it too'. Maybe his logic is like having an old Sanford and Son pickup and a BMW B7 Alpina (google it), when you drive that BMW daily you start taking the features for granted, but when you pull out that truck and get back in your BMW, you appreciate the creature comforts more. Some people need reminders I guess. I'm not saying everybody needs reminders but some do. Plus whether you know or not everyday you interact with another guy you inadvertently comparing him to your husband/spouse. You might not dump your husband for the newer, smarter and richer guy but you make the comparison none the less. And maybe secretly wish that your man had this quality or that one.

Im with DNasty after you have been with someone for awhile sometimes trying out something new helps you appreciate what you have at home. Consider this when your in a long term relationship this get stale and boring. Depending on the people they don't know how to get it going again. Usually one if not both have someone on the side. After dealing with another person you realize it's not that bad at home.
GS or Ronda have you ever cheated on someone if you did then u understand what I'm saying.
What ever level you take it to is up to the person but you know girlfriend is not a solid title.

Im just sayin...If you need clarity and all just be upfront about it. If your wife/husband is lacking something put it in their face. But is it really that you scared to approach the issue and choose to seek outside relations for excitement and to be consoled?

If I heard my husband say that he wouldn't have to worry about loving me more I'd be gone. No for real if you man steps out you show him what he is going to be missing and he'll come back to his senses really quick.
