Equally Yoked
I was talking with my sister the other day, and she made a stated that when you date you should be equally yoked financially... Meaning if you have a house he needs to have a house if you have a car that person needs to have a car if you make this amount of money then he needs to make something close to that amount. Because if he doesnt he will never feel like man, money will always be a issue. Please tell me how you guys feel about the comment

I disagree
ok more....
I think she is trying to think for the man. Using herself and her feelings as the foundation.
So you dont think that a guy ego will be a little down if you cant provide for the home.
I don't agree. It's very simple if he gets with you and doesn't have those posessions. Apparently he feels he is on your level. If it is an ego issue, the man is not going to get with the woman at the gate.
How does that equal not providing?
I mean if she has a 300's crib he cant handle the bills at the house....
We do CRAZY stuff like attempt a challenge of getting with a woman out of league. However, if the woman accepts it, neither can complain later.
Where are the other men at so we can have a well rounded discussion?????
Morning Folks....
I think your sister is totally right on some aspects. My husband and I were so totally on different universes. And I've gone through total hell. The next day after my wedding I knew I made a gigantic mistake. We weren't good from the start. But hey thats why we are getting divorced. Lesson learned and I will get a passing grade next time.
Knobles. DAYUM !!!
Are you saying the mistake was you made more money than him?
Everything need balance .. You both should bring something to the table of value besides drama and foolishness
I agree to bring something to the table but does it mean you need to be on the same money scale?
also does he need to have what you have to be considered equal? If I have a house and he has an appt? If he has a job making 30grand a yr and I make 50grand... is that the red light

He need to be able to handle at least half of the household expenses once the households are combined....
